Show Dates: Our next shows are 7 & 8 June with a double Obedience and a double DJ Show planned. The weekend after that will be a double Working Trials show on 14 & 15 June. Closing dates are 23 May. Schedules will be out soon.

News: I am always trying to write about what our dogs have been doing or what is happening with our members. If I do not get the feed back, my apologies for not putting it into the newsletter. Printing the newsletter, which has to be done for members who have no E-mail is costly and so we have decided not to have a newsletter every month, unless some one can offer the printing for about 5 members each month? Or some one could print one newsletter and pass it on?

~~Thanks for the WTA newsletters. I really enjoy them and your choice of articles is brilliant. I was especially enjoying the article on " The effects of stress on performance "~~

This was send to me by a member and much appreciated as I then feel my efforts are worth to carry on.

Show results: These are also not at hand and just a few comments on the past Double WT Weekend beginning of April. Ted did a good track the first day, but his dog lost it on the Agility. Gladys' Pippa qualified with 90% the first day and she did the most wonderful track the next day with 99% on that track and went on working so well that she qualified with an excellent qualification. Not many dogs track with just losing one mark only! Geraldine had two good days as both her dogs came 1st and 2nd, reversed order the next day, unfortunately no qualification. I believe Heather with Eli loved it and was sorry she did not enter the second day. Remember there are only two more double weekends with working trials!! In June and in August and that will be it for the year. Ursula also had a good track and Qualified with 89%, this throws her out of TD 2 and so work to be done for her to enter TD 3! Now the good news PENNY came third much to her surprise. Sheba did well so now Penny is fired with enthusiasm. Penny's hubby was there to watch which was so nice for her. Obedience I only have it that Paul now has qualified and won an Open Show with Tamar and just last weekend he won and qualified again with Tamar. So one more Beginners like that and you have to go to Novice. Hope to see Tamar in Working Trials beginning of June. Go for it!

Condolences: This has only come to my knowledge today and the WTA extends our deep sympathy to Sonya and here are her own words telling us about her dear ones.

~~This has been a very bad year for me as firstly I put down Beau Geste ( bouv. ) aged 14 who used to do manwork in the days of Wade and Jerry at Oakley , CD in Mutare shows and was known for his excellence in jumping at Mutare horse shows where we used to hold dog jumping before it became a registered event . I also had to put down my peke same age and then I lost my beloved companion , guard , and working dog to splenic haemangio sarcoma and recently my dear old mother ~~

How Many Dogs Does it Take to Change a Lightbulb?

GOLDEN RETRIEVER
The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb?

BORDER COLLIE
Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code.

DACHSHUND
You know I can't reach that stupid lamp!

ROTTWEILER
Make me.

LABRADOR
Oh me, me!!! Pleeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Huh? Can I please?

GERMAN SHEPHERD
I'll change it as soon as I lead these people from the dark, check to make sure I haven't missed any, and make just one more perimeter patrol to verify that no one has tried to take advantage of the situation.

TIBETIAN TERRIER
Let the Border Collie do it. You can feed me while he's busy.

JACK RUSSELL TERRIER
No prob, Dude. I'll just pop it in while I'm bouncing off the walls and furniture.

POODLE
I'll just blow in the Border Collie's ear and he'll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry.

COCKER SPANIEL
Why change it? In the dark I can pee on the carpet.

DOBERMAN
While it's dark, I'm going to sleep on the couch.

BOXER
Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark.

CHIHUAHUA
Yo quiero Taco Bulb.

POINTER
I see it, there it is, there it is, right there.

GREYHOUND
It isn't moving.

AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD
First, I'll put all the light bulbs in a little circle ...

OLD ENGLISH SHEEP DOG
Light bulb? I'm sorry, I don't see a light bulb. Did one burn out?

HOUND
ZZZZZzzzz.z.z.z.z.z

Of all my 5 dogs I thought Rena and Rambu would not be good to little Johan, but surprise except for Rosie, they were so good with him and especially Mana loved him to bits. Rosie could not be with him as she is so excited and would have scratched him or pushed him over. He did love her as she was in a cage on the veranda and so he could walk around it and give her corn curls. Mana would lick him, which he, after a few times, would try to escape, by holding both his fists in front of his face. It was great to see my dogs so good with him. They have never met a child that age [11 months], except Rena who grew up with kids till she was 18 months.
